8 Habits You Are Doing Now That Will Never Make You Successful

Sometimes, to become successful and to get closer to the person we know we can become, we don’t need to add more things to our lives—we need to give up on some of them.

There are certain things that are almost universal. These things, if you give them up, will help you become more successful (even though each one of us could and probably should have a different definition of success.)

Some of them you can give up today, while others might take a bit longer. As the years draws thankfully to a close, it’s worth thinking about what aspects and habits of our lives we should let go of in 2020.

1. Laziness

Successful wake up everyday with tasks to do and with a schedule of work to do. Staying at home doing nothing is an habit you should give up in 2020. Each day, have a schedule of work you do and aims for each day.

2. Making Excuses

Everyone is guilty of this. When we start to make excuses, then we are giving ourselves reasons and options for our own failures. We are saying to ourselves, failure is acceptable.

We’ve forgotten there’s no excuse for failure. If you really want to do it, just do it, make no excuses.

3. Waiting For Someone To Help

If there was saying that went viral this year, it was: “No one would do it for you.” And it’s true, no one would run it for you, no one would achieve it for you.

It depends on you to make it work. The most effective way is to stop depending anyone for your success.

4. Thinking Success Comes Overnight

This is a very wrong assumption. Overnight success is a myth. Ask anyone who has been successful, the way to the top is very hard. The late nights, early mornings.

Musichype is a product of hardwork, success doesn’t come in a day, it’s a product of years of hardwork.

5. Trying To Be Perfect

Nothing will ever be perfect, no matter how hard we try.

Fear of failure (or even fear of success) often prevents us from taking action, and putting our creation out there in the world. But a lot of opportunities will be lost if we wait for things to be right.

6. Social Media And Entertainment Addiction

This is probably the most toxic habit on the list. How much time do you spend checking Facebook, watching stories on IG, surfing the web and wasting time in front of the TV?

Have you thought about how your life would have been different if you had spent more of that time actively learning and creating rather than consuming?

7. Waiting For The Perfect Time To Start

Well, think about this,

Mrs Folorunsho Alakija is a Nigerian billionaire fashion-designer and Executive Director at FAMFA Oil, an indigenous Nigerian oil and gas exploration and production company. She is one of the richest African women and also one of the richest black women in the world. She did not attend a university.

If she did not drop out of school back then, Nothing will ever be perfect, no matter how hard we try.
